Canal + to broadcast World Cup in 3D

Tuesday, June 1, 2010

Traditionally, two major international sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and Summer Olympics generate strong sales of televisions for the industry. It is therefore with great relief to those who are already marketing 3D TVs to learn that TV stations are just in time to propose the broadcasting of football in three-dimension to their viewers.

While TF1 announced the release of five 3D games of the World Cup , Canal + announced Tuesday it will broadcast four games on its new channel Canal + 3D, launched in haste, which was not expected before the end of the year .

The games it planned to broadcast in 3D are:

Argentina-South Korea
Spain, Honduras
Slovakia vs. Italy

After the initial rush to show the 4 games, the 3D channel will not disappear but will offer "regular" 3D programs as the production volume increases.

To ensure a sufficient flow, Canal + 3D will only be available via satellite on channel 18 of CanalSat, with the latest dual decoders and The Cube
